Stanley Kubrick's Collection of Black and White Photographs

Although it was his work as a film director that brought him critical acclaim, Stanley Kubrick began his career as a photographer.

The man responsible for cult classics like A Clockwork Orange, Dr. Strangelove, and The Shining took his first turn behind the camera as a staff photographer for LOOK Magazine from 1945 to 1950.

Over the years, Kubrick took more than 12,000 shots for the magazine, and VandM.com has taken 25 of his most poignant black and white images and has released them to the public for sale.

Kubrick said it best himself, “Art consists of reshaping life but it does not create life, nor cause life.”

Through his lens, Kubrick has reshaped life in his own, distinct way by allowing generations to not only view visual art as more than entertainment, but offering them a unique glimpse at the world.

Priced between $400 to $800, these limited prints will come with a numbered certificate of authenticity signed by the museum’s Curator of Prints and Photography. There are only 50 editions up for sale, and you can get them here.
