Passport to Paris, Pamplona and Beyond: Adventures in Hemingway's Cocktails at The Kennedy Center

In an effort to celebrate the Septime Webre-directed Washington Ballet adaptation of Ernest Hemingway’s 1926 novel, “The Sun Also Rises,” ballet enthusiasts and cocktail afficiandos came together for Passport to Paris, Pamplona & Beyond — Adventures in Hemingway’s Cocktails at the Kennedy Center Roof Terrace Restaurant.

Hosted by Phillip Greene, MOTAC co-founder and author of the book, “To Have and Have Another - A Hemingway Cocktail Companion,” the evening paid homage to the jazz-era Paris and the life and adventures of author Ernest Hemingway.

Taking a page out of Woody Allen’s film, “Midnight in Paris,” guests were served Hemingway’s favorite cocktails, such as the Jack Rose, the Daiquiri, the Martini, the Americano, and the Sidecar while the Hot Club of D.C performed ‘20s Paris jazz standards. Photos by Reginald Campbell.
