Alice + Olivia Sparkle With a Seventies Inspired 2011 F/W Collection

Alice + Olivia’s Fall/Winter 2011 collection gives me much to look forward to this fall. Known for their girly-girl meets edge attitude, the brand always manages to take old classics and reinvent them in a new, fresh and relevant way.

And reinvent is what designer Stacey Bendet hasdone…

For Fall/Winter 2011, Alice + Olivia take the classic wide-legged high waisted pant that was prominent in the 1970’s and presents the silhouette in textured trousers - one pair in sequins and the other in brown leather.

Another stand-out is the wide-legged jumpsuit in a red, purple and maroon print – Want-it. Got-to-have-it.

While the pants and jackets from the collection lean more towards the 1970’s, the dresses favor the 1930’s with flapper dress shapes, delicate lace, and paisley black & white prints.

Two of my favorite dresses from the collection are the horizontal striped sweater dress with an asymmetrical hem and silver sequined belted dress.
