Olivier Theyskens' Theory Spring/Summer 2012 Collection

Olivier Theyskens' second Theory collection for Spring is about refining solids, and returning to basics.
The latest collection is dominated by a white, black, and blue color palette pulled together effortlessly by a range of separates like satin and tweed blazers, over-sized sweaters, sheer layered skirts, and tailored pants and capris.
Spring also marks the return of the slip dress, and in the latest collection, Theory reveals a slip dress that is both gorgeous and delicate.
The colorful, geometric pinwheel print blouses and the vertical rectangular dress were a nice counterpoint to the neutral palette; and the sheer and nautical sequined tanks were solid go-to items for women who could easily pair them with separates.
After moving from Paris to New York City more than a year ago, Theyskens has worked at fashion labels, Rochas and Nina Ricci before coming to Theory, and has adapted his designs impeccably well for the New York sartorial scene.
Theyskens is showing off his talents as a designer that makes minimalistic ready-to-wear effortless.
