Ridley Dowse's Socially Conscious Accessories
Ridley & Dowse, a collaboration between jeweler and accessory designer, Vivienne Ridley and fashion print designer Susannah Douse, prides itself on producing low impact, socially conscious accessories that have perked the interest of big name retailers.
Since their conception three years ago, Ridley & Dowse has seen great success, working with brands like Topman, Harrods, Ted Baker, Boxfresh, and Wayne Hemmingway.
Both women find that the beauty of fashion is in the nature of which it was created, from what, and by whom.
Dowse explains, "We're very concerned with creating beautiful things with as little cost to human rights and the environment as possible."
This organic mindset can be seen most clearly in their latest designs. The U.K. based duo has released a line of steel and brass accessories that showcases the brand's minimalist élan. Ridley and Dowse have turned these cold, sharp objects into whimsical pieces. This flair for unassuming intricacy and detail can also be found in the brand's collections of home goods, decorations, and paper products.
Although Ridley and Dowse has made it a point to keep their market U.K. centered, plans for branching into other areas of design and the globe seem limitless. With a line of handbags in the creative stages and countless retailers vying for a chance to showcase their work, who knows what's in store for the young designers.
You can find all Ridley & Dowse products on their website.
