'The Tents' Documentary Gives a Compelling Look Inside New York Fashion Week

The Tents, a documentary offering an authentic behind-the-scenes look at New York Fashion Week, premiered its sneak peek on July 23th at NY’s LGBT film festival “NewFest”.
Directed by James Belzer, The Tents is not all glitz and glamour, but rather a harsh view from the inside, diving below the glossy exterior of the iconic tents at Bryant Park into the madness.
Nothing is overlooked in this 72-minute account of one of New York City’s most celebrated institutions. The chaos and the glory of this semi-annual, seven-day event is described with almost shocking honesty by dozens of interviews with some of fashion's heaviest hitters.
In explaining the film, The Tents Director James Belzer says, “With a diverse range of voices, we take the audience on an exciting journey through NY fashion history. The term 'The Tents' now resonates as a metaphor for the fashion show venue itself as well as the overall fashion week experience.”
The Tents not only represents a week long celebration of fashion, but an establishment that requires true passion and dedication to continually accomplish since its conception over sixty years ago.
The Tents will officially premiere during the September 2011 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center. Until then, you can catch its preview below
