Girls — “Vomit”

Indie rock group GIRLS is virtually teetering on the cusp of indie stardom.

The eight-member group (of which there are no girls), led by Christopher Owens and Chet "JR" White,  released their debut album, “Album,” in 2009, and have since developed quite the fan following.

Their nostalgia-ridden singles like “Hellhole Ratrace” and “Lust for Life” were perfect summer anthems for wild nights and dazed mornings after. They have cultivated a super-chill California sound coupled with the perfect, angsty, youthful lyrics.

Their sophomore album, “Father, Son, Holy Ghost,” is set for release this September, promising to deliver more indie rock goodness.

The band's lead single, “Vomit,” has a more mature sound than previous albums, there’s still an insouciant touch, but with more sophisticated instrumentation.
