What You Can Expect to Read in Leandra Medine’s First Man Repeller Book

Man Repeller: Seeking Love. Finding Overalls

At last, a man repeller book is on its way.

With over 5 millions followers, Leandra Medine, writer of the blog The Man Repeller, has finally scored a book deal.

Appropriately titled “Man Repeller: Seeking Love. Finding Overalls,” Medine's first book will chronicle some of her most significant life moments and the effects of her sartorial choices.

Each chapter within the 256-page book is cleverly named after specific items of clothing.

For example, “The Tent Dress” chapter chronicles her younger, formative years and her experience with wearing one particular Peter Pan collar dress that led to her first kiss, “The Lessons of The Harem Pant” is a chapter in which she met her husband.

Other chapter names include “The Devil Doesn’t Wear Valentino,” “The Ostrich Skin Clutch,” and “The Period Panties,” among others.

The book also touches on how Medine came up with the name of her blog. In the book, she describes a shopping trip to Topshop, when a friend disapproved of her apparel choices. The friend, in disapproval, reacted by saying, “You’re a man repeller, a bona fide man repeller.” And thus, a blog legend was born.

“Man Repeller: Seeking Love. Finding Overalls,” which will retail for $15, is expected to hit shelves on Sept. 10. But that doesn’t mean you can’t pre-order your copy now.
